Iowa is fishing great. A short, stable weather pattern has fish feeding happily heading into fall, putting on pounds and hitting flies aggressively. Some of our recent guide trips have been dry fly only with fish eating midges, olives, and ants during the day. If you want to fish sub surface, scuds and sowbugs (the ray charles has been extremely hot) as well as small midge larvae and tiny bead heads are the way to go.In deeper water, streamers and leeches have been getting some big, aggressive fish to eat too.
Remember Wisconsin's season is CLOSED. We are fishing and guiding over in Iowa.
