Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 63 ℉, condition: Flurries.
Cloud cover today again, which means fish will be surfacing throughout the day. Small, dark emergers and ants were the ticket yesterday under similar conditions. As it warms up a bit hoppers will be effective as well.Below the surface, the same small nymphs with a thin body (pheasant tails, golden child, midge larvae etc) are great as are larger scuds in grey and tan.
And finally do not overlook leeches and streamers (even mice on the larger streams) as big fish are starting to get aggressive.
