Driftless Area
Rating: 5, temperature: 57 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
The cold weather continues area wide (there was frost on the windshield this morning) dropping water temperatures to the ideal range for both insects and fish.Tricos are falling a bit later in the day and a bit more sparse, but olives have filled in the morning gap getting fish rising early.
Mid-day fishing means terrestrials with a small dropper below, while the evening brings rising fish again to a mix of olives and other small mayflies and midges.
Streamers are doing excellent as the cold snap has put fish into feeding mode. Lots of larger fish have been caught by pulling a sculpzilla through the deeper waters.
