Driftless Area
Rating: 5, temperature: 55 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Cool day today with an overnight that will be near freezing. Some smaller streams water temperatures have dropped to 50 degrees!Everything is flowing cool and the fish have switched to fall feeding mode.
Tricos are showing up a bit later in the day, and terrestrials are bouncing around in the cooler sunny weather in the late mornings. The evening hatch was a bit off yesterday, but should rebound today with more olives showing up area wide later in the day.
Fish are looking up all day, but are also feeding heavily sub surface on smaller, flashy nymphs as well as on scuds and leecehs.
