Driftless Area

Fishing is still great for mid summer. Fishing is still best at first and last light as the majority of insect activity is during the lowest light of the day. Olives in the evening, and on some streams, trico spinner falls in the morning.During the warmer, sunny part of the day terrestrials are working very well. Fishing a hopper with a bead head tied below it can be deadly this time of year, especially in shaded areas and on cold headwater streams.
Mouse patterns are great right now too, with quite a few big fish being taken at night.
