Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 80 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Bright and sunny today, which will make mid day fishing difficult.Early morning has been excellent with the cooler overnight temperatures. The tricos have been falling around 8-9 instead of first thing in the morning!
Mid day, you can find some fish who will crush hoppers and beetles, but you have to fish them either in shady areas, or near lunker structures. A pheasant tail dropper has been hot coupled with a terrestrial.
Evening has brought about hatches, the kind that get entire pools of fish rising. They are on the colder, headwater streams and springs and are usually the first hour before dark. A size 16-18 flush riding pattern has done very well.
