Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 81 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Sunny and breezy today which translates to good hopper weather!Hatches have been pushed to the very early morning and late in the day with the sun bright in the sky. Fish will be rising in the riffles and just below when the hatches (midges, olives, tricos) are coming off.
Hoppers, crickets and ants are deadly during mid day, especially in shaded areas of streams and when fished up against undercut banks. Hanging a tiny bead head nymph or scud below is a great way to double your chances of hooking a trout.
