Driftless Area

Rating: 5, temperature: 73 ℉, condition: Windy.

Light rain this morning, followed by lingering clouds and possible drizzle.  Perfect fishing weather!
Olives are around, but not in large numbers, right now throughout the day.  Other surface bugs to fish are smaller terrestrials and midges.  This is not trico weather.
Sub surface scuds are extremely important as they are much more active when the sun is off the water.  Red copper johns and pink squirrels round out the top sub surface bugs.
Do not overlook leeches and streamers right now too, especially in lower sections as big fish have moved up from the big rivers to take advantage of water temps in the spring creeks.  A well placed streamer will tick off an aggressive fish!
