Fishing is still quite good when the hot temperatures are not keeping anglers off the water. Fishing early and late and avoiding the mid day sun is key.Fish are going nuts for terrestrials. This is the time of year you can fish ants, beetles, and big ugly hoppers and watch fish cruise across stream to eat them. There is also a small BWO hatch in the cooler part of the day that has fish sipping on the surface.
Scuds are red hot sub surface with tiny bead head nymphs getting fussier fish to eat.
Today will be windy which means a changing weather pattern that will blow this excessive heat and humidity away. It will be warm this weekend, but nothing like the past few days. Back to a normal summer! (The heat warning ends at midnight tonight)
