Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 74 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

A beautiful day today with partial cloud cover and a high of only 74!  Water temperatures have dipped, and streams are all clear.
Fish have been extremely happy during this cooler weather feeding on the surface in the mornings, subsurface all day long (as well as on terrestrials) then there is an evening rise again once the sun leaves the water.
The major hatch is still midges early and late, and with the breeze today, there will be more fish looking up and eating hoppers, ants, and beetles.
Subsurface, think small beadheads and some meaty scuds.  The beadheads to match the midges, and the scuds to give the fish a meal.
