Driftless Area

Normal summer weather is here!Highs in the low 80s, and cooling down to the low 60s at night, the weather is stable and that always makes fishing much better.
You are still best off fishing the first four and last four hours of the day for the most productive fishing, but mid day on a shaded stream or tossing a terrestrial to undercut banks can be great this time of year too.
Midges are hatching in the morning and evening, and a handful of mayflies and caddis are on the water at night. Sub surface fishing consists of micro mayflies and scuds, as well as midge larvae.
Bigger streamers, leeches, and even mice (at night) are very effective in low light situations.
