Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 72 ℉, condition: Flurries.
Clouds early today, then partly cloudy. The water has dropped and cleared area wide over the past day and a half giving us almost all of our water a clarity of clear to stained. Fishing has been fantastic as fish have put on the feed bag after the high water earlier in the week. There are no major hatches, a few emergences of midges and olives, but fish are feeding up on top on craneflies and terrestrials, and sub surface on scuds, midge larvae, and thick bodied nymphs.
The weekend weather looks stable and quite nice. Remember to get out early and late to take advantage of the best hours of fishing this time of year.
