Driftless Area

Rating: 5, temperature: 80 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Water temps in the mid 50s to low 60s.  The recent rains have only stained a couple of our larger streams with the majority of our water running clear.
There is still a huge mix of insect activity with caddis, light colored mayflies, yellow sallies, and midges popping off keeping fish looking up.  Terrestrials are also very effective right now, especially on breezy days.
Subsurface scuds, emergers and nymphs with some flash in them, and tiny bead head nymphs are catching fish.
Some rain is forecasted over the next couple of days, but with the dry ground we should not see anything blown out or unfishable.  With low clear water, some rain may put a stain on the water making fishing that much better.
