Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 82 ℉, condition: Partly Cloudy.

Another warm and muggy day today.  Plus quite a bit of wind as this warm front exits the area.
Find shelter today, water temperatures will be lower next to bluffs and underneath trees (not quite mid summer conditions as the water temperature is still in the high 50s to mid 60s) as well as giving you protection from the wind.
Fish are still eating caddis and cranes, with the appearance of some light colored mayflies in the afternoon and evening.
We have also started to see more and more crickets on the banks, as well as a handful of grasshoppers.  Terrestrial season is on us!
Subsurface scuds and tiny thin bodied nymphs are getting fish to eat.
