Although odd, yesterday was great fishing. On top of th usual craneflies and tan caddis, on many streams we saw a full blown hatch of black caddis (again). Add to that mix a handful of olives and you have a day that we fished dries on our guide trips the entire time with great success. The hatches are still coming off in the afternoon and fish are looking up all day. They are also eating emergers and soft hackles as well as small (14-16) chunky bodied nymphs.
Water is clear, and today will start off sunny with increasing clouds as a storm front rolls in. This low front will bring some rain over the weekend. The amounts they are predicting will be enough to put a stain on the water, but not blow out streams area wide.
