Driftless Area
Rating: 5, temperature: 66 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
Water is clear, temps are ranging from 50-60, caddis and craneflies are hatching (the hatches seem to be getting fish rising with gusto around 11 a.m.), and the weather is great.A slim chance of drizzle this afternoon, but the first cloud cover the area has had in three days.
Fishing remains very strong, especially in the morning and evening when the sun is off the water a bit. We have had stable weather for a few days now, and both insects and fish have settled into a bit of a pattern. Nymphs and streamers in the morning, then right around lunch time dry fly fishing or dry/dropper with an emerger or soft hackle fished below.
