Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 61 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Fishing has been excellent and with cooler weather, it will stabilize a bit and get rid of the dead period mid day.
Caddis and craneflies are hatching regularly area wide.  The caddis are charcoal and tan, the cranes pale orange and creamy yellow.  Both are size 14-16.
Sub surface action has been great on mini pink squirrels, midge larvae, soft hackles and caddis pupae, as well as scuds in grey and tan.
Patchy rain is forecasted for today and into the weekend, but not enough to blow streams out.  Cloud cover and some cool rain will bring the water temps back down to 50 and have both bugs and fish very happy.
