Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 78 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Waters area wide are clear to stained, with only the largest streams still cloudy.
Caddis and craneflies are hatching regularly throughout the day with the most consistent activity in the afternoons.
The forecast has lowered the probability of thunderstorms in the area which means cloud cover without a major fear of rain over the next few days.
With the unseasonably hot past two days water temperatures are hitting 60.  This will drop a bit over the next few days as conditions normalize.  When water temps are above 60 things slow down a bit this time of year.
On the flip side of the coin the hot weather has a handful of terrestials out and about.  We have had good success on crickets and beetles lately.
Subsurface fishing is best with scuds, thick bodied nymphs, and midge larvae.
