Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 53 ℉, condition: Flurries.

No rain to speak of at all means waters will be crystal clear to slightly stained.
The sun is poking out from behind some clouds this morning and if we get enough solar heat the caddis will hatch today.  If the clouds stay in the area it will be midges and olives again.
Fish are looking up in the afternoons at the peak of water temperatures (they have been peaking in the high 40s) for midges, olives and a handful of caddis where the water hits 50 degrees or higher.
Subsurface midge larvae have been excellent with scuds and some large thick bodied nymphs also fishing well.
Do not forget to run some emergers, both caddis and midge, as droppers.  Emergers can catch fish when everything else seems to fail.
