Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 38 ℉, condition: Windy.
The major precipitation has left the area, with only a slight chance of sleet and rain today. The storm will leave the area around noon.Water temperatures will start to slowly climb today, no need to get out early.
Subsurface fishing in the morning with scuds and midge larvae, then switching to more active nymphing with emergers in the afternoon will work today.
The only major hatch activity will be midges and olives. Water temperatures have been too chilly for any major caddis activity. This will change going into the weekend when this mini winter weather ends (starting tomorrow). There will be some snow melt, but nothing that should blow the streams out. We will keep you posted.
