Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 47 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
Recent breaks in the weather yesterday and today have the hatches back on line and the fish very happy.Cloudy today which should bring about only sparse caddis hatches, but decent to heavy midge and mayfly hatches.
Water temperatures are still low due to overnight cold weather, they have been in the mid 40s to 50 in the afternoon. No need to get out early.
Fishing has been strong sub surface on simple mayfly nymphs (pheasant tails, golden child, copper john) and thick bodied scuds and nymphs.
On the surface fish are keying in on emergers and patterns that hug the surface film.
