UPDATE 4:00 PM--- Still no rain here in Viroqua. It looks like the storm will pass mostly south of us down near Prairie Du Chien. Will update if anything weird happens, but so far nothing but wind to disrupt the fishing today!Wind is going to be brutal today, but the rain forecast has dropped again calling for only 1/10th of an inch.
Fishing anything on the surface will be very difficult unless you can find a shelter from the wind either in an area with trees, or tucking up against a bluff face (preferably an east facing bluff).
Scuds, pink squirrels, midge larvae and pupae and other tiny bead head nymphs will work well. If the wind becomes too difficult to cast accurately toss on a streamer or leech as they are doing well right now.
