Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 59 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
Solid midge fishing continues and blue winged olives are hatching throughout the area too.Warm with cloud cover today which means we can get away with fishing a bit less stealthily. Water temps at or near 50 degrees area wide.
Saturday looks great with a slight chance of showers until late in the night. Sunday rain is forecasted with heavy stuff coming in the late afternoon.
On top, fish are eating small soft hackles, midge adults, and size 16-18 blue winged olive patterns.
Sub surface we have been very successful with tiny bead head nymphs (18-22) tan scuds (14) and thicker bodied nymphs (prince nymph, pink squirrel etc).
