Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 47 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

Warmer weather has increased the window of good fishing a bit as on some streams we have seen midges hatching as early as 9.
Fish are feeding in the runs on tiny bead head nymphs (18-22) as well as scuds and some thicker bodied nymphs.
When the hatch comes off the trout are looking for small (18-20) thin bodied dry flies.  Midge adults work the best in black, but clients have been catching fish on a simple parachute adams.
Water is clear area wide, and water temperatures are peaking in the mid 40s in the afternoons.
