Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 36 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Fish have been pretty happy with the recent sunny weather warming the waters up.Fishing is a bit slow until around noon, with a few fish able to be caught in the runs and deeper pools on small bead heads and thicker nymphs.
When the water temperature peaks there is much more activity, even on the surface, as midges begin to hatch. The hatch has lasted quite long the past couple of days, on some streams even until dark with sporadic pods of rising fish.
Water temps are still chilly, but a warmer week should give us an increase in water temperature and insect/fish activity.
All waters are crystal clear to slightly stained and fishing very well.
