Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 49 ℉, condition: Flurries.
After a day of rain and muddy waters, it took a short drive from the shop this morning to find clear water. Some of the smaller streams and tributaries have cleared out overnight as we had no more rain after noon yesterday.Fish will be feeding very well sub surface today on scuds, leeches, and other thick bodied nymphs. Water temperatures are still in the low to mid 40s and will not get much warmer than today as a cold front blows in this week.
Surface wise, midges will be hatching in the afternoon, and a smattering of mayflies on the warmer streams.
