Driftless Area
Rating: 4, temperature: 65 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
The great weather/great fishing trend continues today and on into the weekend. Cooler temperatures have fish and aquatic insects invigorated and the fish are starting to lose all of their mid-summer blahs. There have been olive hatches increasing in intensity area wide in the early afternoons, especially ones with some cloud cover.
Scuds and smaller, darker nymphs and midge larvae are doing well sub surface, as are leech patterns.
Terrestrials continue to be strong with ants, crickets, and beetles leading the way.
