Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 81 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
A nice north wind is in the area for the next couple of days cooling the temperatures down. Water temperatures will follow making for some good fishing through the next few days.Mornings are still the best until about 10, then chase some shade during the day until the fish turn on again in the evening.
Waters are clearing rapidly with quite a bit of stained to clear water. Some of the larger streams are still cloudy, but fishable. Fishing in stained to cloudy water is usually much easier than clear water as fish are more comfortable.
Tricos are still appearing in the morning but not in large numbers. Olive have been hatching early morning on cloudier days too.
Otherwise ants, beetles, hoppers and crickets are taking fish, especially with a bead head nymph tied below them as a dropper.
Leeches and streamers have been absolutely deadly on water that has a bit of color to it.
