Driftless Area
Rating: 2, temperature: 85 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
UPDATE 11:00 a.m.: Guide trips returning from morning fishing, trib to Timber Coulee fishing was good with a hatch of BWOs. Larger streams still high and cloudy. No more rain hit the area last night and the creek that we took a look at that was barely fishable last night now only has a slight stain. Smaller waters will be clear by this afternoon and fishing well. Larger streams will be running murky.
Fishing leeches and San Juan Worms, as well as larger scuds in the murky waters will catch some fish, while the smaller headwaters will fish with the standard scuds and nymphs we have been fishing the past week, as well as fish will look up to eat terrestrials.
For the weekend fishing all depends on rain tonight. They are forecasting 3/4 of an inch, however those numbers are usually much higher than the actual rainfall we get here (supposed to get 2-4 inches yesterday morning, only got 1.5). The fishing could be blown out, or it could be that incredible post rain fishing we have had after the storms all summer long. We will keep you posted as best as we can.
