Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 84 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

UPDATE 9:00 AM:  After getting a call from a friend in Fenimore who said the rain missed there and the Green was clean, I hopped in the truck and drove south of town this morning.  There is clear to slightly stained and fishable water right now.

After an awesome thunderstorm last night the rivers are high and cloudy again.  Lots of rain fell area wide in a short period of time so expect muddy water on the main branches with some of the smaller streams and tributaries clearing out late this afternoon.
Larger nymphs and scuds work in cloudy water, and leeches can be very effective.
As the streams drop, fishing a hopper with a nymph below will produce fish.  We do not expect the streams to stay murky for too long.
