Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 74 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
Cool overnight temperatures and low daytime highs have fishing very good, despite sunny weather.Terrestrials are doing great with fish screaming across the stream to hit hoppers yesterday, and the standby patterns of ants and beetles are catching fish up on top too.
Sub surface flies that are working well are scuds and tiny thin bodied nymphs.
Tying a nymph dropper below the terrestrial is recommended.
The water on some of the larger streams is still cloudy, but the smaller tributaries and small to medium sized waters are crystal clear to stained.
There was even a hatch of tiny blue winged olives last night!
