Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 83 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

UPDATE 9:00 PM: After a couple days of dropping and clearing it looks like a big storm is headed our way tonight.  Forecasted between 1/2 and 3/4 inches of rain, which will blow out the majority of our creeks again for Saturday.  Break out the leeches and streamers!

Streams area wide are dropping and clearing with most having a stain on them still.
Fishing was quite good yesterday in the shaded areas on leeches and streamers in the stained waters, and on larger nymphs and scuds in the clearer water.  Fish were rising last night to a non descipt midge, but were happy to eat ants and beetles off the surface too.
Today will be another bright day in the morning, with clouds coming in in the evening and sticking around over the weekend.
There are still some yellow sallies laying eggs, and other than midges most specific hatch activity has fizzled out.  This is a great time to fish terrestrials as fish are still actively feeding on the surface in shady areas and in the evenings.
