Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 79 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
After a Sunday of bright sunny weather, we have cloud cover and a chance of rain before this afternoon.Fishing has been best on ants and beetles, as well as egg laying yellow sallies in the evening.
Leeches and streamers twitched through the deepest spots and beneath undercut banks and lunker structures have caught many fish lately too.
Hatches are still sparse with a few light colored mayflies and caddis as well as a few midges in the mornings.
Water temperatures are in the 60s except on the smallest waters.
Even though we have had incredible cloud cover over the past few weeks, fishing has been best early in the morning and later on in the evening.
