Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 76 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
The big storms yesterday did not touch the Viroqua area and north. Our streams are crystal clear to slightly stained and fishing well.It will be a sunny day today, so find some shade or fish early/late in the day.
Ants, beetles and hoppers are catching fish on the surface during the day. There are sparse hatches of sulphurs and cahills in the evenings, as well as egg laying yellow sallies.
Subsurface action has been on micro nymphs and scuds and leeches have started to do well rolled along the bottom of the upstream edge of holes and down into the deep part of the hole.
