Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 86 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.
Less than a half inch of rain last night, so no worries about muddy water for the weekend. There will be a stain on the agriculturally challeneged streams.Today and tonight we are forecasted for more rain, but it should not be enough to blow all of our streams out. Also, keep in mind that the heavy rain is localized to certain valleys so if your favorite spot is cloudy, head over to another valley and take a look at a different body of water.
Low hatch activity including the lighter colored mayflies, craneflies, and egg laying yellow sallies.
Terrestrials, especially ants and beetles are with the great fishing being early in the morning and later in the evening.
Tiny nymphs in the riffles and scuds in the deeper water are also doing very well, scuds especially after the recent rains.
