Break out your wading jackets! Showers all day today with a forecasted accumulation of over half an inch possible. Expect some stained water later on today as most of our ground is saturated from rains the past few days. Water levels are still good and our streams were crystal clear yesterday.Fish have been feeding well on craneflies, caddis, and yellow sallies as well as terrestrials on the surface, but during showers the dry fly action is slow.
Fishing size 14 gray bodied flies to mimic cranefly larvae is working very well, as it also imitates scuds and caddis. Tiny thin bodied nymphs are working as well, especially midge larvae.
Streamers will get some aggressive fish today, as will leeches.
