Driftless Area

Rating: 4, temperature: 83 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Cloud cover throughout the day today, with clouds increasing in the late afternoon.
Water temps have started creeping downward after a hot weekend.
Fishing is still great in the riffles, and starting to pick up again in the contours of the holes.  Smaller nymphs fished below the indicator dry (try a hopper!) is our rig of choice, but a scud rolled along the bottom is starting to get quite a few fish.
Hatches are sporadic and tend to be in the evening.  We are still seeing some lighter mayflies (sulphurs, cahills) and yellow sallies in the evening.  Midges are catching fish on top in the morning.
