Driftless Area

Rating: 5, temperature: 69 ℉, condition: Flurries.

Although no major hatches coming off area wide, fish are looking up throughout the day.
Midges are working in the morning, and caddis and olives that ride flush in the surface film (hackle stackers) are catching fish in the runs below riffles.
Nymphing has been great too with fish nosed up in the riffles feeding on scuds and slim mayfly nymphs, and fish holding in the undercuts that will venture out for larger scuds and thick bodied nymphs.
We have also started to catch fish on terrestrials with many fish falling for beetles, and even a few eating hoppers.
