Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 50 ℉, condition: Snow.

 Break out the olives.
We are supposed to get rain throughout the day today with an accumulation of less than a quarter of an inch which means no muddy water.
The temperatures have dropped quite a bit with today's high only reaching 50.  This should not affect fishing significantly.
It is cloudy first thing this morning, with rain inching its way into the Coulees.
Under these conditions, blue winged olives, scuds, cranefly larvae, and midges will be moving about.  It is also a great time to break out the streamers and leeches!
Fish have been feeding heavily in the riffles, and with this weather that should not change.  Toss small nymphs behind a visible dry fly or indicator in the shallower water.
