Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 74 ℉, condition: Heavy Rain.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m.:  Heaviest rain hit us, and it was not at all significant.  There is still a chance of rain, but I highly doubt it will even stain most of the waters in the area.  The major hurdle for fishing tomorrow will be the wind.  Supposed to be 20 mph plus sustained.

Season re-opens tomorrow Saturday May 1st.

It is likely we will see some thundershowers today, however the total accumulation of rain is predicted to be less than half an inch, so nothing will blow out.  Saturday will be windy (ugh not again!) and partly sunny.
Over the break we walked a few streams and saw remnants of the black caddis hatch on the Timber Coulee, and craneflies and midges area wide.  Early next week there will be cloud cover and a chance of showers, perfect olive weather.
For Saturday, craneflies, soft hackles, scuds and a few caddis should do the trick.
