Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 59 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.

Cooler today with clouds early blowing off in the afternoon.  Caddis are hatching well, especially on the Timber Coulee system.
Water temps are still in the low 50's and holding stable.  Cooler nights will keep them from popping up too high for this time of year.
Fish are a bit fickle with changing weather patterns each day for the past 4-5 days, but they are still eating well.  Caddis, both black and tan are hatching as well as a few blue winged olives in the evening.
Stick around for the evening hatch as the wind usually dies down and the bugs and fish really come out if they were tough during the sunny day.
Sub surface caddis pupae are incredibly effective as are scuds.  Flies with movement are great right now too.  The more movement the better it seems as it may imitate a hatching caddis.
