Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 53 ℉, condition: Dust.

No significant rain overnight.  The waters will be flowing a bit cloudy first thing this morning and clearing up to stained/clear by the afternoon if we do not get any more rain.  There will be spotty showers all day long along with a bit of wind.
The cold front has put down the caddis that were hatching, but the mayflies and midges are still popping off.  With any cold front the fish are deep in the holes early and will respond to scuds and other nymphs fished deep.  As the water warms they will start looking up and take soft hackles and emergers along with the sub surface patterns.
Water temperatures have dipped a bit but overall fish are happy.  They will just be a little groggy this morning.
