Driftless Area

Rating: 3, temperature: 77 ℉, condition: Cloudy.

UPDATE 2:45 pm:  Wind is not as bad as forecasted.  Not the major hatch, but black caddis are making an appearance area wide.  Cloudy tomorrow night, which could mean a good olive hatch.

Another warm and windy day today.  The wind has masked some better hatches lately.  Midges, a handful of caddis, and even spring stoneflies have been popping off as the water temperature has been rising due to warm nights.  Fish will be looking up in spots sheltered from the wind.
Sub surface caddis pupae and scuds are doing excellent, while other bead heads are catching some fish too.
During windy conditions sometimes you are forced to fish with leeches and streamers, and this is not a bad thing this time of year!
