Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 62 ℉, condition: Light Flurries.
Foggy this morning, then sunny this afternoon. Great conditions for our continuing midge hatches. Water temps, thanks to a few warm days, are hitting 50 degrees in the afternoon supercharging aquatic life. We have even seen active crayfish already.Midges are hatching in the evening, and scuds and thin bodied nymphs are working well, especially in darker water (stained water and shaded water).
We have not seen an olive hatch, but water temperatures are right and they have been reported on some of the warmer streams in limited numbers.
