Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 43 ℉, condition: Thunder Storms.
Winter fishing remains good, and continues to get better as this low weather system settles into the area. Midges and winter stones are still hatching well with fish rising everyday. Sub surface scuds and larger profile nymphs are catching fish. There is a prediction of some showers this afternoon, but not a lot of accumulation.
We are seeing light rain and showers for the rest of the week which will stain the waters up durinng the latter part of the week. We will keep you posted, but the good news is that there is not supposed to be anything heavy so there is a lesser chance of unfishable water.
The warmer night time temperatures are also putting more cold water into the creeks as melting continues slowly through the night.
