Driftless Area
Rating: 3, temperature: 82 ℉, condition: Cloudy.
This is the last month of trout season!Another mild day today. The sun will be shining again, so find the shade to find more active fish.
Waters are low and clear. Water temps are around 60 degrees area wide. It is still a good idea to use a thermometer to make sure the water is not above 65 degrees. If it is, not only will the fishing be poor, but it can be lethal to trout above 65 degrees.
Fishing has been solid on the surface on terrestrials (especially beetles and ants) and small generic dries such as adams and even caddis.
Subsurface fishing is best with smaller, flashy patterns as well as scuds.
