UPDATE: Apparently we got a bit more rain than expected. Buzzing around creeks mid day today, a lot of things are murky out there. It is dropping and clearing quickly, but not clear like we reported first thing this am.
A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before noon. Cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 79. Breezy, with a southwest wind 8 to 18 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.
Last warm day in a while. A bit breezy and drizzly this morning, but nothing awful.
Creeks re in great shape and fishing has been fantastic lately. With a touch warmer weather, the trico spinner fall has been a bigger thing, but still nothing to be super excited about. The main action is terrestrials and nymphs still. Fish are loving ants, beetles and hoppers as well as simple foam attractors. Tying a bead head below them lets you hit two different pieces of water at once.
In the evening fish are rising to some late summer olives. Again, not the major hatch, but enough to get fish looking up.
This has been one of the best trout summers we can remember. It's definitely worth getting out here and fishing and things will only get better as the rest of the week cools down!
