The rains passed south of Vernon county yesterday. We only received a half inch or so overall in the past 24 hours. Our creeks are clear to slightly stained today with temperatures in the mid 50s to mid 60s.
Lighter colored mayflies are hatching, especially in the evenings and we are having success on dries throughout the day. In addition to the sulphurs and cahills, tan caddis are working as are terrestrials.
Subsurface fishing is good on pretty much anything right now with pheasant tails and brush hogs being a safe bet.
