Mostly sunny, with a high near 66. West wind 5 to 9 mph.
Ahhh fall in the Driftless. The leaves are beginning to turn, the trout have started to get their fall colors too, and the fishing has been great!
Creeks are clear to slightly stained and flowing well.
Fish are eating midges and the occasional olive spinner in the mornings, then switching to terrestrials once the sun dries the bankside vegetation off. Fishing foam with a dropper is deadly through most of the day. In the evenings we are getting a hatch of fall olives as well as a few craneflies.
Do not neglect leeches and streamers right now too. Fish have started to chase some bigger meals as they transition into fall pre-spawn mode.
