Increasing clouds, with a high near 44. West wind 8 to 11 mph.
Creeks are clear to slightly stained in the morning with water temperatures in the high 30s to low 40s. In the later afternoon, snowmelt is still cooling water temperatures down and increasing the stain on the water. Make sure to use your thermometer as once the water temperature starts to drop, fishing slows down considerably!
Midges are still hatching mid daily and fish are rising for them. We have seen mayflies (olives) here and there, but not a major hatch yet. It is coming soon.
Most of the action is sub surface on small (16-20) thin bodied dark nymphs rolled along the bottom. Scuds, leeches and even San Juan worms have been very effective too.
We have also had some success twitching large streamers for larger trout.
